Final Draft

I have used final draft for about a year now, ever since I put my sight on writing a film and the fact that their ads got to me, I guess. It’s a revolutionary program in my view. Can you imagine those classic screenwriters writing in a computer as us, well somehow I can’t. They wrote masterpieces on pencil or typewriters, on a computer it’s another world entirely.

In their time there was no internet, well I guess fully developed, that way they actually got time to type away all day without distractions. They also actually learned to format a screenplay. So I thank them every day for their great classic scripts that are a trill to read.

Now on to modern life. I thank the computer genies that gave us the modern flashy computers and the ever evolving internet. I can’t imagine living without an ad hitting me on the screen every so often to let me know I am still human and trying to get it to close. There are way many distractions in today’s world, in my humble opinion. I adore the fact that ads provide for peoples revenue and what not. But they somehow get messy sometimes. Then there is the Internet itself with every click taken every second you don’t know where you might end up. Example, looking at the Google news page, yeah it’ll just take a minute, then finding out that I just spent 2 hours doing surfing, and I don’t even know how to swim.

So yeah, those are some of my complications that impede me from completing a script. But here is when final draft comes and saves me. It’s a sole program dedicated to nothing more or less but to write scripts. When I get into my writing mood I like to shut down the internet (modem) so I won’t be distracted or tempted to surf and drawn. The program is all about you writing, no time to waste in formatting. You just have to get to know how it works, real simple once you start writing. Mostly you just have to press ENTER or change with the cursor the names of characters that are about to speak or such things like the action taking palace or changing scenes. Real simple stuff. The program isn’t free and it ain’t cheap either, so if you know your ways, you know how to get it in the Internets (I miss Bush).

Good luck writing.
